We all thought Spring Quarter was going to be easy. Oh how wrong we were. This is the toughest one yet. In the next two weeks I've got 2 take home final exams, 4 final project papers and a presentation due. On top of that the social calendar is full just about every night since we are trying get together before we graduate. I think i've done more drinking in the past 4 weeks with all our friends, than i have done in the last 10 years combined.

Week 3 Spring Quarter

I guess I'm having trouble keeping my blog posts up to date lately. After finals last quarter we (Sloans) had an incredible trip to DC and NYC. We met some interesting people in government and private sectors. And most importantly we did more bonding together as a class, with a whole bunch of new stories that will stay with us forever.

While the Spring Quarter is supposed to be the easiest, it seems like the workload continues to increase. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. Maybe I took the wrong classes. My classes are great, just a lot more work than expected. While the second year MBAs are taking one or two classes this quarter, i'm taking 5 1/2 classes.

Winter Quarter Almost Over

It seems like i've been apologizing more this quarter for not posting. The Winter Q has had a lot of reading and writing so it's been busy for us all. Luckily we're done early next week.

Then we all head out on our East Coast trip to DC and NYC for a week.

I will do my best to start putting more up on the blog next quarter. The Spring Q is rumored to be a little more relaxed around here. All i can do is pray that is true.

I'm sorry for the two week delay in getting a post up here. It's mid-term exam time at the business school and it's been a little crazy. I've had 3 papers due in the last week, a mid-term and a simulation project in my Operations course.

Other than that things are going well. I'll start writing more this week.

The Saga in Arrillaga

I'll start with the bad news first. We lost our second game tonight by 40 points (74-34).

But the great news is we scored 34 points. That's 20 more than last game. The practice definitely helped as we passed the ball a lot more on offense and played much better defense although the score doesn't show it. The fact is, most of their points came off the fast break (that's where them being 20 years younger helps). When we could slow them down they weren't scoring too much. It was also great to have Kevin down in the middle getting rebounds and posting up.

Great Job Sloans!!!!!!!!

Winter Study Team Sunday BBQ

Today our Winter quarter study group "Gruppo P" got together at Bruno's place for a midday BBQ with our families. Bruno is from Argentina so we had empanadas and some meat that was carne asada style. Everything was excellent. This weekend a lot of the study teams had get togethers, so we'll see what stories start circulating tomorrow.

Saturday Morning Practice

Given our devasting basketball loss on Wednesday nite, the team regrouped this morning for a 90 minute practice. We worked on putting together a game plan and learning how to play offense a little better. Hopefully we'll score more than 14 points in next Wednesday's game.

Sloan Basketball

Last night was our first game on the hardwood together and it was nothing short of a disaster. The final score was something like 56-14. We had 14 ;-(

I think most of us could have been the parents of the kids on the undergraduate team we played. Needless to say, they had a little more speed than us. But it was great exercise. We were all huffing and puffing throughout the game.

The highlight of the game happened in the first 60 seconds when we took the lead by scoring first as Bruno nailed a 3 pointer. I still don't know how he did it, but he did. It was downhill after that.
